Airlines With the exception of minor spelling errors or a name change due to marriage, most airlines don't allow name changes after a ticket has been purchased (see How to Due to a marriage, you must change your name on your airline ticket). The reason for this isn't logistical, but rather economic: airlines don't want speculators buying tickets in advance and then selling them for a profit at the time of departure. Airlines guarantee that they, rather than speculators, get the value of higher priced tickets booked closer to the date of travel by carefully implementing a no name change policy.
